Overcome tragedy and strengthen posterity by writing and preserving your story

Storybooks for Healing® (S4H) is a facilitated guide and workbook program, plus storybook publishing, which can effectively assist individuals in overcoming grief and loss through focused writing.

The S4H program is based on two important principles: the more purpose one finds in tragedy, the less painful it becomes; and, there is powerful healing that comes from service to others. S4H provides the vehicle for celebrating the life of a loved one or the life lived before the tragedy, confronting the pain of loss, finding purpose in tragedy and looking ahead with hope for a life still worth living. Through this process many will find meaning in their loss and be given the opportunity to serve others by sharing their story.

The S4H WORKBOOK and GUIDE can be ordered through our S4H Store...

Storybooks For Healing arose from the SIDS death of Brynn Marie, daughter of founder Melanie Davis. Melanie created a storybook to preserve Brynn's memory and pass on her life-lessons to posterity... because this knowledge is too costly to be lost! She discovered that writing and sharing the story about Brynn, and what she learned through this difficulty, brought great comfort and purpose.

Sharing her story with others going through a similar difficulty brought Melanie joy and complete healing; and she could see how much it helped others to read Brynn's story, and then create their own book. Along the path to developing S4H, Melanie met Joan Hitchens, an entrepreneur in preserving family history through writing, storybooks and video montages. Together, they co-founded Storybook for Healing® with its mission to help grievers find purpose in tragedy and heal through writing and service.
